Executive Functions Predict the Success of Top-Soccer Players

The researchers examined the players’ executive functions — cognitive abilities such as decision-making, working memory, and cognitive flexibility — and were able to connect the results to actual on-field performance. Players who scored highly in the tests recorded more goals, assists, and playing minutes, demonstrating a clear relationship between psychological factors and football performance.

This is one of several studies that form the foundation of our services. By using similar testing methods, we can today provide clubs with decision-making support that increases the likelihood of successful recruitment, talent development, and improved squad balance.
